Why is my latest episode, artwork, title, or description outdated?
If your podcast’s latest episode, artwork, title, or description appears outdated on Podlink, it’s usually due to a delay in syncing updates from your podcast’s RSS feed.
How Podlink Updates Podcast Information
Section titled “How Podlink Updates Podcast Information”Podlink pulls your podcast information directly from your RSS feed, which is maintained by your hosting provider, like Spotify for Podcasters, Libsyn, Anchor, Buzzsprout, and others. We check for updates periodically, but there may be a delay between when you make changes in your podcast host and when those changes appear on Podlink.
Common Reasons for Outdated Information
Section titled “Common Reasons for Outdated Information”- Your host hasn’t updated the RSS feed yet. Some platforms may take a few hours to publish changes.
- We haven’t refreshed your podcast feed recently. We automatically refresh feeds on a regular schedule, but it’s not instant.
- Your podcast app or host is caching an old version. Even after Podlink updates, your hosting platform or listening apps might still show outdated info due to caching.
How to Fix It
Section titled “How to Fix It”If you’ve recently updated your podcast details and don’t see the changes on Podlink:
- Double-check your RSS feed. Make sure the changes are reflected in your feed. You can usually view your feed URL directly from your podcast host.
- Wait a bit longer. Updates typically appear within a few hours, but in some cases, it might take up to 24 hours.
Still Not Seeing the Right Info?
Section titled “Still Not Seeing the Right Info?”If your podcast information remains outdated for more than 24 hours and you’re sure your RSS feed is up to date, please contact us with the following:
- A link to your Podlink page
- A description of what’s missing or outdated
- A link to your current RSS feed
We’ll look into it and help get things back on track.
